Estimate£100 - £150Winning Bid£260StatusCLOSED Condition ReportThere is a loss to the blade lower section just above the copper wrapping with further nibbles to edge, there is corrosion and pitting and further bluntness to tip, the tsuba quite heavily pitted with some corrosion, further general wear to hilt, the wrap obscures the shark skin so cannot speak to the condition of that though possibly could be poor, also heavily worn, scuffs, scrapes, etc and, as stated, is probably associated, this item is for restoration and will need significant attention, it is sold as seen, viewing advised, request additional images if necessary. No visible trace of a wavy tempering line, there is some movement to the tsuba, some slight movement to the handle, blade appears to run straight to the naked eye and the leather scabbard likewise, although both have quite heavy wear, the blade cutting edge does have several nibbles and losses, the scabbard heavily scuffed and scraped, the pommel somewhat loose, attached with a chord, tsuba also with surface corrosion, some quite deep scratches and gouges, we are currently unable to remove the handle to photograph the tang.
