A brief piece of research included which lists full name as James Long of British nationality of Private rank and part of the 5th Cavalry Brigade though we cannot confirm these details. Lot 350 A Naval General Service Medal (1847) awarded to George Wall with erroneous St Vincent clasp; George Wall is listed as rank Able Seaman and serving on the HMS Benbow which participated in the bombardment of Acre in 1840, therefore medal lacking Syria clasp as would have been issued, this medal is listed as having been sold in Sotheby's in 1910 with a false clasp, some photocopied research included.
