View Lot 650 A pair of early 20th century Royal Doulton vases, each decorated with two owls perched on branch against full moon, with flared green glazed rims on blue, brown and green grounds, one with printed mark to base and impressed no.7910 and the other with underglaze cross mark and indistinct impressed number, height approx 44cm (both af and heavily restored) (2). Estimate£300 - £500Winning Bid£250StatusCLOSED Condition ReportAs stated both vases have suffered extensive damage and restoration, the vase lacking printed mark upper section around neck has been completely off and reattached with quite obvious restoration done with visible difference in blue colour, crudeness to the continuation of the painting and visible marks where the damage was done. Entire top has dull ring and has been reglazed and painted if not replaced entirely, large and visible hairline crack spreading from neck to shoulder, the same vase has had serious damage to the lower section with numerous spreading hairline cracks from the base up to the approximately lowest third where a further restoration has been done, with a visible repainting, numerous visible cracks that have been filled, a significant section of the foot rim if not but probably also lower section has been off and reattached with fairly visible restoration and fairly crude job of repainting.
