View Image Lot # Item Title Time Left Your Bids 2171 CRUCHLEYS; a pair of mid-19th century terrestrial and celestial table globes, each with brass hour disk, calibrated brass meridian and raised on stained mahogany ring turned legs with similarly turned cross stretchers, the terrestrial globe detailed as exhibiting the discoveries in Equatorial Africa, North Pole and the new settlements and divisions of Australia, New Zealand, California and Texas, height approx 47cm, diameter of platform ring approx 45cm. Condition ReportThe terrestrial globe has an area lost and repaired beneath the text, there is cracking and crazing throughout, several surface dents including a 12 x 8mm section in East Russia. General wear and tear throughout. The stand has some knocks to the edge and surface wear. The celestial example is catching slightly and has a few surface scratches and marks, a few surface dents and some knocks to the edges of the frame. Some small sections of the veneer are missing around the edge of the frame but overall a good pair of globes.
