The brass finials are in good condition. The right hand viewing window has a crack which is about 4cm long on the glass, but the crack is also to the veneer as well. The movement has been serviced and overhauled at some point as there is a label to the interior 'E. E. Allan For Repairs, High Street' Ramsgate'. There are splits in the woodwork and small, insignificant areas of missing veneer. We have briefly wound the clock and it does tick over when the pendulum is set in motion. We have not fully tested the mechanism and this clock is sold with no guarantee of working order. Nor have have we tested the striking function. The side sections of moulding at the base somewhat loose. Dial heavily crazed, heavily stained, replacement hands, some paint loss, some bubbling. Loss to the lower left of the 45 marker. Losses to the rolling phase in numerous places, as well as this being stained with a brown colour. Loss to the text above the phase. Overall heavy general wear throughout, would benefit from attention and restoration. Cannot speak to Gillows attribution of the case.
