Lot 48 of 669: VICTOR PRIEM (1925-1989); a shallow stoneware wall plaque with abstract figurative decoration, incised signature and dated 1968, diameter 31.5cm, and a ribbed bowl made in 1970 (2). (D) Born in Riga (Latvia), Priem joined the German Air Force, but was captured by the Allies and brought to the UK as a prisoner of war. He was selected to act as an interpreter in a prison camp near Brighton. At the end of the war he was allowed to stay in the UK as long as if he worked as an agricultural laboure
